Jim Halpert - Ahem, John Krasinski - Sang the "Original" Lyrics to The Office Theme Song on SNL

Image
This was the original @theofficetv theme song. Don't ask questions. pic.twitter.com/GENJfBjGks - Saturday Night Live - SNL (@nbcsnl) January 31, 2021 Everyone knows the familiar melody of The Office 's instrumental theme song , and even though it's already iconic, John Krasinski decided to give it a bit more flair. In a sketch on the Jan. 30 episode of SNL, John - who was acting as host - remixed the theme song, adding a string of hilarious "lyrics" in the form of observations about the clips that appear in the show's opening credits. "Scranton, Scranton, Scranton, Scranton, Scranton, Scranton, Scranton, Scranton," he begins the song's "long-lost lyrics" to the rhythm of the music. "Back where we all lived and worked as a calculator. There's Dwight, he's the bad guy, and the hero's name is Jim!" There's more, and while it's extremely catchy, it's definitely better heard than read. Listen to the

John Krasinski and Pete Davidson Kissed as Jim and "Pam" on SNL, and It Definitely Hit Different

John takes questions from the audience about The Office and…actually just The Office. pic.twitter.com/hhUs0Mcrqz - Saturday Night Live - SNL (@nbcsnl) January 31, 2021 John Krasinski kicked off being host of the Jan. 30 episode of Saturday Night Live with a, well, a kiss. In the actor's opening monologue, members of the cast sitting in the audience heckled Jim John, asking him why he was in such great shape when The Office 's Jim Halpert is supposed to be "soft," and where his wife Pam was. When he responded that his actual wife, fellow actor Emily Blunt, was in the UK, Kenan Thompson asked if Pete Davidson, who was standing next to John, was Pam. "I think they really need for someone to be Pam," Pete says. "I think we gotta give them what they want, Jim. Jim, you gotta kiss Pam ." And, dear reader, to the cheers of "Kiss Pam! Kiss Pam! Kiss Pam!" that's absolutely what he did. It definitely hit a little different, but we w

Zoe Lister-Jones and Cailee Spaeny Found Freedom in an Apocalyptic Pandemic Comedy

Image
"I have never been loved by anyone the way that you have loved me, and I am so sorry that I haven't known how to love you back." Zoe Lister-Jones utters this beautiful line with such emotion, you might expect it to be part of a dashing romantic monologue. The reality is much better and more heartwrenching. In How It Ends - which premiered at the virtual Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 29 - Lister-Jones's Liza explores her insecurities at the end of the world with her metaphysical younger self (played by Cailee Spaeny) by her side. "We were living it as we were performing it." Lister-Jones and her husband (and frequent creative partner), Daryl Wein, cooked up the apocalyptic project at the beginning of COVID-19 shelter-in-place. Although the film makes no mention of the pandemic, Lister-Jones told POPSUGAR the real-life parallels were intentional. "We were living it as we were performing it," she said. Inspired by their own therapy sessions,

Start Your Engines, and May the Best Racer Win: Here's Who Is Still in the RPDR Competition

Image
Even though we saw the first big twist of season 13 of RuPaul's Drag Race coming, it still left us in shock over the fact that the lip-sync losers were sent to the "Porkchop Loading Dock" to await their fate. Surprisingly, we actually didn't see anyone get the "pork chop" during the first episode, with the queens learning they'd have to vote someone off at the beginning of episode two, although their pick didn't actually go home either. In fact, no one went home during episode two or three - all the queens were safe after separate performances to the RuPaul classics "Condragulations" and "Phenomenon." It wasn't until the episode four acting challenge that eliminations were finally put into place. Episode five saw the queens competing in "The Bag Ball," which included the dreaded unconventional materials sewing challenge. With such an unprecedented start to the season, there's no telling what other tricks and t

Thanks to WandaVision, We Know How Maria Rambeau's Story Ends

Image
WandaVision finally confirmed onscreen what Marvel has admitted for a while : Teyonah Parris's character is actually Monica Rambeau , daughter of Captain Marvel 's Maria Rambeau. What we didn't know - until now - was where Maria herself is in all of this. Thanks to WandaVision 's fourth episode, we finally have our answers, and it's a bit of a tearjerker. When the episode begins, we see Monica apparently "reassembling" from bits and pieces and reviving in a hospital chair, somewhere unknown. It quickly becomes apparent that she's not the only one and that this is the aftermath of the Avengers reversing Thanos's snap, bringing back everyone in 2023. As per the rules set out in Avengers: Endgame , everyone who was "snapped" returns to approximately where they were when they were snapped out of existence back in 2018, so Monica returns to a hospital room that is now empty. A disoriented Monica finds a doctor she recognizes and asks about

Is WandaVision Hinting at the Next Big Bad of the Marvel Universe? We Think So!

Image
The character of Mephisto ties directly into some of the biggest theories we have so far about WandaVision , but he's never actually been mentioned on screen at all! While we're trying to figure out exactly what's happening in Westview and who's in control of everything, it's the perfect time to consider Mephisto's comics history and the very real possibility that he's about to be introduced as the newest baddie of the Marvel universe. In the comics, Mephisto is, pretty much, the Marvel version of the devil. He's one of the biggest "Big Bads" there is, and pretty much all of the heroes come into conflict with him at some point. He's made of the same nebulous cosmic energy as the Infinity Stones, and, at one point, tries to guide Thanos into collecting the Stones and causing mass destruction. In the comics, he's able to personally acquire the Time Stone, which - wait for it - allows him to travel through time and the multiverse, crea

We Just Got the Craziest WandaVision Episode So Far - Here Are All the "New" People

Image
After three episodes of sitcom-themed confusion, WandaVision finally gives us some answers in episode four - along with some new and familiar characters ! For the first time since the series began, the episode doesn't revolve around Wanda and Vision; instead, it's centered on a few characters we've seen in Marvel projects before but never all together like this, as they look for answers about what's really happening with this bizarre sitcom world. The fourth episode brings in two fan-favorite characters who have long been suspected of playing a part in the story, while also expanding the story of one character we've already met and introducing someone new who could be a great ally or a dangerous foe. Here's what to know about the characters who took the spotlight in this episode. from POPSUGAR Celebrity https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/wandavision-episode-4-characters-cast-48138723

Carlson Young Is Bringing Things Full Circle With The Blazing World

Image
Greenbelt Films Carlson Young's directorial debut The Blazing World , which premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 31, serves as a full-circle moment for the 30-year-old. "I had my first job ever in Austin," she told POPSUGAR. "So to bring it back there [while filming] and legitimately go back to my roots is not only very fitting for the film but was a really beautiful thing." Young got her start on the Disney Channel in 2007, and since then, she is best known for her roles on Key & Peele , Emily in Paris , and MTV's Scream . The Blazing World once again sees Young delving into the world of horror she became so familiar with during her stint as "scream queen" Brooke Maddox on the hit MTV show. When it came to making the jump from actor to director, Young was more than ready for the challenge. "I've been acting for a long time, so I felt like I had enough on-set experience as an actor to be able to do both," she share

So, Did Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly Get Engaged?

Image
It's clear that Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have fallen head over heels for each other, but did they just take another step in their relationship and get engaged? Earlier this week, the 34-year-old actress sparked speculation when she was spotted wearing a huge ring on her left hand while accompanying the 30-year-old rapper to Saturday Night Live rehearsals in New York City. The couple has yet to officially announce anything, but upon closer inspection, it looks like the ring she's wearing is the same one MGK is often pictured with . Megan and MGK first met on the set of their upcoming movie, Midnight in the Switchgrass , almost a year ago, and it was practically love at first sight for Megan. "I looked into his eyes [and] I felt the most pristine, most gentle, most pure spirit," Megan previously recalled. "My heart shattered immediately and I just knew that I was f*cked." Megan separted from Brian Austin Green after 10 years of marriage this past

On My Block Is Ending With Upcoming Fourth Season, and We're Not Ready to Say Goodbye

Image
After three adventure-filled seasons, On My Block is ending after its upcoming fourth season. On Jan. 29, Deadline confirmed that the show will return for 10 final episodes , which will include Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco, Jessica Marie Garcia, and Julio Macias. The teen dramedy set in the fictional LA neighborhood of Freeridge aired its third installment in March 2020, and rather than ending with a heart-pounding cliffhanger like the previous seasons , concluded this batch of episodes with a seemingly definitive ending. The season's big bad is dealt with and nothing is stopping any of the kids from living their best lives as normal teenagers. But rather than bringing them together, the new freedom seems to allow them to drift apart. At the end of the finale , Monse is enjoying her life away from Freeridge at boarding school, Jamal is the center of attention with his teammates on the football team, Ruby and Jasmine are happily still together, and Cesar h

Is WandaVision Setting Up Scarlet Witch to Become the Big Baddie of Her Own Story?

Image
If there's one thing that Marvel's WandaVision has already perfected in four short episodes, it's confusing the hell out of its viewers. Every installment adds another theory to our pot while debunking three others, and yet the answer to the biggest question of them all has only been hinted at. In episode four, appropriately titled "We Interrupt This Program," viewers finally get to see what's been going on in the real world during the first three episodes and learn how Monica came to be in Westview . When she returns from a harsh ejection courtesy of the new mother with magical abilities, Monica says one thing, "It's all Wanda." That phrase, combined with all the events we've witnessed since the series began, seems to allude to Wanda being the sole culprit behind trapping the town of Westview and warping it into the sitcom we (and everyone watching from S.W.O.R.D.'s camp ) see. While it's true that Wanda has shown that she has s

Always and Forever Will Probably Be Lara Jean and Peter's Final Appearance, Sorry!

Image
To All the Boys: Always and Forever is this year's biggest Valentine's Day movie, but it's also a little bittersweet . As far as we know, there won't be a fourth movie in the hit Netflix movie series, so this year could be the last time we see Lara Jean and Peter and all their friends. The series isn't ending because it's not a hit, though - there's actually a very simple explanation. The whole To All the Boys series is based on a series of YA books by Jenny Han. There are three books in total in the series: To All the Boys I've Loved Before , P.S. I Still Love You , and Always and Forever, Lara Jean . As you might notice, each of the books corresponds exactly to one of the movies, so at this point, once the third movie is out, there's no more material to pull from for making movie adaptations. For the most part, this tends to be how it goes with movies and TV shows based on books: when the source material runs out, so does the screen version.

So You're Still Thinking About Promising Young Woman's Soundtrack? This Might Be Why

Image
Straight from its intro blasting Charli XCX 's "Boys," its clear that Promising Young Woman 's director, Emerald Fennell , intended to use the film's music to amplify the twisted plot - and use the songs as a source of unadulterated irony. The bubblegum soundtrack acts as a mask for the movie's very serious themes, similarly to how Cassie paints on her red lipstick every night and makes men believe she's wasted, counting down the minutes to when they'll try something without consent. There is so much more lurking beneath the surface, symbolized by Cassie's own juxtaposition of sweet and harmless on the outside, ice-cold revenge on the inside (although not nearly as ice cold as the men). Although the film's composer, Anthony Willis, told Billboard , " there were so many songs in the movie that are used really ironically in the settings they're used in," Fennell was quick to point out she is a true fan of each song to Vanity Fai

The Weeknd Talks Grammys "Sucker Punch": "I Personally Don't Care Anymore"

Image
The Weeknd's After Hours album was arguably one of the best albums of 2020 , so you can imagine my surprise when he was rudely snubbed from this year's Grammys . The 30-year-old singer did not receive a single Grammy nod, and even he was left dumbfounded. In a recent interview with Billboard , The Weeknd opened up about the "sucker punch" moment , saying it hit him "out of nowhere." "I definitely felt . . . I felt things. I don't know if it was sadness or anger. I think it was just confusion," he explained. "I just wanted answers. Like, 'What happened?' We did everything right, I think. I'm not a cocky person. I'm not arrogant. People told me I was going to get nominated. The world told me. Like, 'This is it; this is your year.' We were all very confused." "The only real answer is that in the last 61 years of the Grammys, only 10 Black artists have won album of the year." The Weeknd also point

There Won't Be a Peaky Blinders Season 7, but You Can Still Get Excited For the Movie

Image
Before we get into the good news, we're going to rip off the bandage real quick for you: the sixth season of Peaky Blinders will officially be the last. It was announced in January that the award-winning series would be wrapping up, and honestly, it's been a tough pill to swallow. The news came as a shock to fans (ahem, us) since the show's creator Stephen Knight told PA Media Group in 2019 that he would begin writing season seven right after finishing up the sixth. "Then I'm looking at spinoffs, maybe a movie," he said. Speaking to Deadline about the future of the period gangster drama on Jan. 18, Knight confirmed that while the series will finish with season six , the Shelby family's story won't end with it. "We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it," Knight said. "While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form." Now, we have some c
