Nothing Will Ever Top the Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack, You Can't Change My Mind

If I had a dollar for every time I've dramatically announced that "Lizzie McGuire literally RAISED me" to anyone within earshot, let's just say I would easily be able to afford a trip to Italy to rival that of Hilary Duff's whirlwind romp around Rome as millennial America's sweetheart Lizzie; maybe minus the falling for a secretly heinous Italian pop star and posing as his insanely famous other half, Isabella. The Lizzie McGuire Movie was not just a moment, it was a movement. This 2003 cinematic masterpiece brought us so many cultural gems that still stand today (that inflatable igloo dress, anyone???), but the most meaningful, in my less-than-humble opinion, is the unbeatable soundtrack that we are still blessed to enjoy.

You cannot tell me that hearing Atomic Kitten singing "The tide is high but I'm holdin' on" doesn't make you want to throw on a newsboy cap and pick up the nearest hairbrush to belt into. When I hear Taylor Dane's cover of RuPaul's "Supermodel (You Better Work)," I'm immediately transported to the very runway where Lizzie-turned-Isabella shows off just "How you say . . . awesome?" she can be at that whole pop star thing. The soundtrack brings back not only waves of nostalgia, but also so much comfort in the trying times of 2020.

While we mourn for the Lizzie McGuire reboot that could have been, let's revisit all of the certified bops from the movie's soundtrack - which, to be clear, is the absolute best movie soundtrack of all time. Just give it a listen and you'll remember why it truly is "What Dreams Are Made Of."
